Description

Sometimes simple is best. The Summit Pack is a straightforward, carry-on–compliant daypack that’s just the right size, about like a five-gallon bucket with a flat side for your back. Padded waxed canvas straps attach to a solid brass ring for comfort and flexibility, while the waxed canvas body, reinforced leather, and double-thick bottom make it tough enough for years of daily duty.

Toss in your gear, cinch the drawstring, and buckle the flap it’s that easy. Whether you’re heading to class, catching a flight, or taking a short hike, the Summit Pack keeps it simple, rugged, and reliable. Handcrafted in Duluth, Minnesota, and guaranteed for life.

The Summit Pack is built on the idea that a backpack doesn’t have to be complicated to be good. With padded waxed canvas straps that connect to a solid brass ring, it rides comfortably on your back whether you’re walking city streets or heading down a trail. The main compartment is big enough for daily essentials—about the size of a five-gallon bucket—and the flat back keeps it sitting just right.

Waxed canvas shrugs off weather, premium leather adds strength, and a double-reinforced bottom ensures it’ll handle heavy loads for decades. Solid brass hardware finishes it off, because we believe in building gear that lasts a lifetime. Simple, sturdy, and carry-on ready the Summit Pack is a Frost River classic that just works.

    Love the quality!

I bought this backpack for camping and bushcraft. The quality is top notch and it is very comfortable. Plenty of space for 3 seasons, of course, it would be nice to have some belt loops attached to the bottom for strapping on an extra blanket, sheepskin, or pad. I’m glad I bought it though! Thank you

    Amazing Pack!

This is the first Frost River backpack that I have purchased. I was looking for “the one” after trying so many packs, rucksacks and haversacks that were either too heavy, too uncomfortable, or I just didn’t like them. But this Frost River Summit Pack is the Absolute Best Pack I have Ever Owned. It is extremely well made and durable. I love it’s comfort and the way it molds to my back as I carry it. The padded straps add that extra touch of support. Even full, it is perfectly comfortable. Not too heavy, and the size is just right. I love this one so much that I went back and purchased Another one! I just ordered the Geologist pack! Because I have a lot of experience with different packs, I can confidently say that I won’t carry any other kind of pack again. I am 100% satisfied in all ways, and highly recommend Frost River!!

    The GOAT.

I have had this pack for well over a decade. It even saved my skin after going over the handlebars on my old cycling commute to class back in college (13yrs ago?). Frost River patched it up and even added a sternum strap for me (this is a huge upgrade). The pack is definitely showing its age by now, but still kicking.
Being a dad and an office man now, there are a few things I would love to see so that I can justify buying another Frost River pack some day: Add a padded laptop sleeve inside, a water bottle sleeve (or two), and one extra organizer pouch on the inside.
Yes, it would add weight, complexity, and cost to an already near-perfect pack, but I need some added capability to THIS pack. It is otherwise perfect and there are no better shoulder straps on the planet. Thank you, Frost River!
