These mittens seem like they will be adequate for working around the farm. They are only shells, you must have a liner in them. I use Army surplus wool glove liners in mine. That way I can take the mitten shells off and work on something with just the gloves.
I normally wear a large sized glove but ordered the medium mitten. I’m glad I did, they seem to run large.
I was given the wrong size and won’t have time to reorder in time for Christmas now, amazing mittens but wrong size …. 😭
Great. But I ordered the large and was too big! I sent them back to exchange for medium!
Purchased the Pennsylvania Choppers and filled them with the Fox River Double Rag Mitten for my wife. An unbeatable combination for warmth! She was using a Black Diamond mitten but had to put and warmers in them in below zero temps, which were painfully drying and cracking her fingertips. No need for hand warmers with the Pennsylvania Choppers/Fox River Double Rag combo, even in the recent -20 temps we've experienced! Fingertips are healing up and she's much happier. The only mitten for farm chores!
I have been looking for the same stitching and quality I remember from a pair of choppers I had as a teenager. Unfortunately I lost them during a military move.
My search for the best and warmest choppers for NH's cold winters has ended. I absolutely love they are made in the USA!
