Description

The Devil’s Kettle Daypack was designed to punch above its weight. Compact in size, but built with expansion in mind, this pack can easily double its capacity with attachments and add-ons. Four heavy-duty leather lash squares, a molle webbing panel, and two brass Frost River G-hooks on each side make it one of our most adaptable packs yet.

Two zippered exterior pockets keep essentials handy, while canvas-padded backstraps ensure comfort even when the load grows. Built from heavyweight waxed canvas with solid brass hardware and premium leather, it’s tough enough for trails, camps, and whatever’s next on your list.

Handcrafted in Duluth, Minnesota, the Devil’s Kettle Daypack is a versatile tool built for adventurers who like to travel light but don’t mind carrying more when the need arises.

Excellent but could use a couple of tweaks.

Overall an excellent pack. Well made, solid materials. Two things I would like them to tweak:
1- the leather tabs that secure the shoulder straps to the bag have sharp corners and they rub something fierce against my back. I largely solved the problem by shaving the edges of the leather with an Exacto knife. Much better, but still not perfect.
2- no storm flap over the main zipper.
Please address those two things FR and you will have a five star pack.
Side note, please bring back your Nalgene bottle holder. It’s weird and irritating that I have to order from your competitor when you have made them in the past.

    A great (deceptively large) pack

Very neat little daypack that can easily have it's storage capacity artificially doubled using the attachment systems mounted to the sides, bottom, and top. Haven't found much of a use for the G-hooks on the bottom left and upper right sides yet, but I'm far from done experimenting with it. If you're thinking about getting any packs, bite the bullet on this one.

    Frost River quality

I needed a smaller pack but always like the ability to add to my packs. It’ll take me a bit to figure out how many different ways I can accessorize this pack but I never doubt their quality. I do like the zippers as they make opening and closing much easier and quicker.it is my work lunch bag.

Beautiful bag, with a lot of attachment points. Perfect for when I'm planning a big trip and need to carry several different things, but still need my hands free. Plus, the customer service team was amazing in helping me find exactly the type of bag I needed!

    Great day pack!

This pack is very versatile and looks right at home both in the outdoors and on the daily commute. Mine has been my go-to bag for day hikes and for work on occasions where I need a backpack rather than a brief. I love the multiple attachment points and how much junk I can fit in it without it being cumbersome to carry.

I noticed in the Field Guide IX it says that this bag has a laptop sleeve. Unless they’ve updated the design this is incorrect. There’s only a zippered dangler pocket. You can however fit a laptop in the back of the pack but it’s not protected by a sleeve. No biggie for me but worth noting if you’re looking to buy this one.

Build quality is above and beyond, like all Frost River bags.
