I have many FR products including my 1st--Large Field Satchel--where you'll find my epic review. But this is the empty one at back door I grab on the way out knowing it'll be perfect to tote back the day's treasures, like yesterday with boxed new Kimber K6xs revolver inside, plus several boxes of heavy ammo & a speed loader. After purchased, I meandered for hours with it comfortably on shoulder thru-out Bass Pro's huge store in The Pyramid where Memphis Grizzlies once played. Lost count how many customers asked in what department they could find it. While it looks like an item BP would offer, I of course told them FrostRiver.com in Duluth, MN. Yes, the generous Redwing leather on this version looks great, but it also adds strength, as well as stiffening to hold it open for easy loading. Yet bag is still flexible enough to slim down when less bulk is inside, when included shoulder strap pad is fine. But I usually pack this & other shoulder bags full & heavy, so replace it with FR padded buckskin pad, & add its leather luggage tag, too. The main center compartment will accomodate anything up to nearly a foot long & about 4 in thick, while at same time recent oversize smartphones, even tablets, plus half an inch of docs or mags will fit into the slip slots on either side of it. Men, your masculinity will not be challenged by carrying this "purse"--after all, it IS a traditional shotgun-shell bag--& ladies, you'll appear no less feminine with it slung rakishly crossbody, perhaps with a silk scarf flourish. Functional, good-looking, guaranteed-for-life durable, you'll be thrilled with this Frost River Large Premium Shell Bag--if you can afford it.
Very high quality item. I use it as a "chest pouch" when Im hiking with my Isle Royal Bushcrafter Pack. The added leather on bottom and front helps to make it incredibly durable.
Frost River shipped the item quickly and provided updates with tracking number. The Shell Bag is of Excellent Quality, and I love using it when I don’t want to put on a Vest or if it’s raining at the range. It does seem to keep your shells dry so as not to put wet shells into your gun. Would recommend to family/friends.
A masculine way to have everything for the day at close reach just like the wife, makes traveling easy as you can pack your kit and know whats where.
