Like many items in FR catalogue & on its website, descriptions are more fluff than substance, so requires phoning helpful associate for more info. I got this strap to replace non-swiveling stock one on Large Field Satchel. HAD I NOT SPECIFICALLY ASKED, I would have ordered 3/4-in-wide strap, since it's same width as stock & example pictured clearly has swiveling thumb-snap attachment. But ONLY 1-in-wide strap has the swiveling attachment, the VERY REASON I wanted to replace the stock strap that really should swivel in the 1st place. Yet upon receiving 1-incher, I was disappointed to learn both its buckle & swiveling thumb-snaps are disproportionately weighty for satchel & identical to hardware on far larger & heavier Curtis Flight Bag I also have. Good news is that the Padded Buckskin Shoulder Strap Pad I already had on--& this one designed for--3/4-in stock strap actually fits super-tight & so remains stationary as I prefer on new 1-incher. By the way, easiest, quickest, no-damage-to-leather method to remove any stock strap is to hacksaw carefully sideways thru existing rivet between fold in leather. Then all it takes is 2 new same-size rivets thru existing holes & tool to attach strap to something else!
This was ordered as a replacement for a missing strap on a vintage Filson bag. With a little wear and break in it will be even nicer than the one my bag would have come with.

I bought 2 of the 1" straps to replace the permanent 3/4" straps on my Big Manitou and Archaeologist Satchel. I wanted a strap the swivels at the attachment point and thought 1" would look a little better than the 3/4".
I cut the straps off of both bags, clipped these on, and my great bags became perfect!
Strap is of high quality and matches my Filson Twill briefcase perfectly. Not to mention, it was half the cost of buying one directly from Filson.
