I bought this to replace another by Orvis w/ a different type snap-close mechanism that can be difficult to attach to belt loop. FR's feautures its usual quality Redwing leather attached w/ brass rivets to super-heavy polished brass hardware--D-ring at 1 end, swiveling traditional snap-closure at other. Problem for me is whole rig is too heavy & big. Weighs 3 oz & measures 9 in long, & that's w/out any keys. W/ a wad of house & car keys attached to furnished 1-in diam. keyring on D, the rig is too long to hang freely w/in front pants pocket when snapped to nearest belt loop above. Instead, the keys bunch in bottom of that pocket rather than transferring their weight more comfortably to waistbelt, my reason for using such a rig. If you attach similarly but do NOT nest keys in pocket, the rig flails wildly about, though it would likely be fine if snapped to something relatively stable like backpack, canoe, or hook on wall. For me, the solution would be a 2-in-shorter strap & medium duty hardware. Or carry fewer keys!
