Field Satchel

I’ve used the large satchel for several years of deer hunting. It holds all essentials and also is extremely durable. I only wish it had an optional strap to keep it more secure to my waist

The Forever Satchel

Firstly: I love this satchel. I'm really picky about my EDC satchel and was devastated when my last bag finally gave out. I did a lot of research into what my next EDC bag would be and decided on the field satchel (large) in black. I'm so glad I did. Their lifetime guarantee is what sold me in the end, especially since my bags (and stuff in general) tend to take a lot of abuse from being outdoors and on the go. It's professional-looking enough that I can bring it into work but I love that it has that tough outdoor construction.

I never write reviews, but this satchel certainly garnered one. Things I like:
- quality hardware/zippers that seems sturdy enough to last
- thick leather that will break in nicely
- canvas is tough and I like that there's no lining to tear or clean. I can't attest to how water resistant the bag is yet but it seems to do the job!
- well thought-out organizational pockets including an easy-reach pocket in the back (I put snacks & horse treats in there) as well as pen pockets, space for a knife, side pockets for hand sanitizer or chapstick, and a zipper pocket in the interior for stuff I need to be extra secured.

The large size easily fits most books (and I read books that are sometimes 700+ pages and thus take up a lot of space) with room to spare. The divider pocket nicely fits a notebook and a pack of playing cards. I usually carry all these things with me and it doesn't feel too cumbersome.

The only thing I would improve upon is the leather shoulder pad - because it is only attached to the crossbody strap by two slits, it often bunches up when you put on the bag and I find myself having to adjust it. I would add either a third slit in the middle so the pad lies flat when you put the bag on or some sort of buckle/small strap over the top that helps it lie in the proper position. The crossbody strap would dig into your shoulder without it so I won't take it off, but it can be annoying to adjust sometimes. That's a small fix though and ultimately I do like the bag as it is. I may even just make the slits myself if it gets to that point.

Overall, this is an incredible satchel that I hope to use for the rest of my life. The bag is on the pricier side but you can tell by the construction that it's worth it (and think of the cost savings of only buying one bag for life). Shipping was super quick as well. This may very well be the last EDC bag I ever buy! Thank you, Frost River!
